The Truthbrush petal pink bamboo toothbrush is a really simple bathroom swap to reduce your plastic waste. These brushes have an ergonomic design, so they look and feel beautiful to touch and use.
This bamboo toothbrush also has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties. It’s resistant to natural pests too. As well as being very hygienic, your Truthbrush is fully biodegradable.
Sustainable, organic bamboo forms the rounded handle. The bristles are medium DuPont nylon to care for your teeth and gums. You’ll easily be able to pick out your petal pink bamboo toothbrush from your bathroom holder too.
Devon based, Truthbrush founders are committed to offering a completely plastic free toothbrush that helps protect teeth. They look great in your home and help support your eco-friendly goals.
Every year over a billion plastic toothbrushes are thrown away worldwide, ending up in landfill, in the sea or washed up on a beach. Using a bamboo toothbrush with a biodegradable handle is a small change but together we can make a big difference.
Why nylon bristles?
We would love to find a genuine plastic-free alternative to nylon 6 bristles which could biodegrade. However, after extensive research we realised that the only non-plastic alternative is boar bristles (pig hair), which would be unacceptable to many people.
There are also unsubstantiated claims of biodegradable nylon 4 bristles but in-reality this is not commercially available. We are constantly searching for an alternative, but until then we believe that a biodegradable handle with nylon bristles is much better than a totally plastic brush.
How to Care for your Truthbrush
We recommend, based on advice from dentists, that you replace your toothbrush every 3 months (although we know the Truthbrush lasts much longer).
After use, please don’t leave standing in water.
Disposing of your Truthbrush
To dispose of your toothbrush, please place in your ordinary bin. Over time, all but the bristles will biodegrade, leaving no residue. Alternatively, you can pull out the bristles with a pair of pliers and re-use the Truthbrush in any creative way you can. Plant canes and paint stirrers are just a couple of examples of how you can give your Truthbrush a second life.
